The Centre is currently looking to recruit a monitoring and evaluation consultant with the objective to influence the effectiveness of projects and initiatives in the field of interreligious and intercultural dialogue. The role will initially require focus on internal institutional capacity-building. Tasks The Consultant will work closely with all Directors and Advisers and will be under administrative supervision of the Director of Research Department.

The main tasks will be as follows: 

  • Develop and implement an institutional monitoring and evaluation strategy for all KAICIID activities incorporating latest tools and techniques to deliver KAICIID’s vision and strategy as a field leader in this area;
  • Devise strategies accordingly to inform KAICIID partner approaches to monitoring and evaluation on joint projects and initiatives and to ensure effective joint monitoring and evaluation of same;
  • Create exemplary monitoring and evaluation methodologies and procedures that will ensure systematic capture, documentation and communication of project/intervention data and outcomes;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research and his team towards the development, implementation, and promotion of a field-leading research strategy that will accelerate field funder engagement and participation rates;
  • Engage fully at project design stage with Research and Programmes Departments’ teams as well as with KAICIID partners to ensure that a monitoring and evaluation component is included in all projects/interventions at an early stage;
  • Prepare supporting documentation and impact reports to demonstrate project/initiative and/or intervention progress and success against specific criteria/strategic/operational goals and objectives;
  • Perform any other duties as required

Required qualifications and experience 

  • Advanced university degree in sociology, (inter-)religious studies, project management, Social Sciences or related subjects with university training in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience monitor and evaluator of both, small and large projects
  • Project management experience, preferably in an international setting; previous work on Interreligious Dialogue is an asset;
  • Proven experience as trainer and facilitator;
  • Knowledge of and experience with monitoring and evaluation framework(s);
  • Excellent communication and networking skills; • Excellent planning and administrative skills including budget monitoring;
  • Cross-cultural and interreligious sensitivity;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • Fluency in English, oral and in writing.
